We Must Talk Now
Amid the bloodiest war the region has ever seen, some Palestinians and Israelis who lost family members to the conflict are fighting to break the cycle of violence and revenge.
Every year, the Israeli-Palestinian NGOs “The Parents Circle” and “Combatants for Peace” hold a joint memorial ceremony for Israelis and Palestinians who lost loved ones to the conflict, and yet choose to share their grief with each other and seek a path for dialogue. In the spring of 2024, while a devastating war wages outside, the joint memorial ceremony is held in a secret location due to threats of violence by Israeli nationalists. We Must Talk Now follows the organizers of the ceremony and two of its participants, an Israeli who lost both her parents on the Hamas attack of October 7th and a Palestinian who lost over sixty members of his family in the Israeli bombardment of Gaza, highlighting those who endure a devastating personal loss, but have not lost the hope for justice and reconciliation.
